哈萨克斯坦收费公路将充分推广RFID technology

Kazakhstan plans to promote radio frequency identification (RFID) in the domestic toll road system.

According to the Kazakhstan State-owned Highway Joint Stock Company (QazAvtoJol), it plans to fully promote radio frequency identification technology on toll roads in Kazakhstan. Radio frequency identification is a new technology for non-contact two-way data communication through radio frequency, which uses radio frequency to read and write recording media (electronic tags or radio frequency cards) to achieve the purpose of identifying targets and data exchange.

After the related technologies are popularized, the system equipment installed at the entrance of the toll road can scan the electronic tag attached to the front windshield of the vehicle to complete the contactless mode of the vehicle entering and exiting the toll road. There is no personnel contact during the identification, charging and release work, and the waiting time for the entire procedure will not exceed 5 minutes. QazAvtoJol also stated that the work of attaching electronic tags to vehicles will be done free of charge.

At present, RFID equipment has been installed and tested on the toll road sections from Nur-Sultan to Temirtau and Almaty to Kapuchagye. It will be installed on the Almaty-Khorgos highway in the near future. The method of recharging toll road payment accounts will not change.
