施工现场解决方案集成射频识别和视频eo technology to improve worker safety

EarthCam, a construction camera technology company, and Triax, a worker safety technology company, have partnered to provide a solution that combines RFID-based data about workers and video from cameras to provide builders and owners with a view that automatically checks site access . This solution incorporates Spot-r worker safety technology to identify who enters the scene and integrates with lockable revolving doors and EarthCam's video verification system.

This combined solution is now in use at construction sites in New York City managed by Lettiere Construction. With the technology, Mike Fraser, Triax's vice president of business development, said that Letttire can manage its entry gates based on RFID data, and view camera lenses based on specific RFID tags read to monitor what is happening. Lettire has been using Triax's Spot-r staff security system for several years, and recently, Lettire has been looking for a way to visualize the turnstile entrance.

The Spot-r worker security system includes active RFID sensors and readers, as well as cloud-based software that enables construction companies to identify employees wearing Spot-r IoT sensors and communicate with field workers and managers in emergency situations Conduct on-site location and emergency contact. EarthCam is a provider of architectural camera technology, providing its customers with real-time streaming video, gigapixel panoramas, 360 virtual reality site visits, and AI-generated time-lapse videos so they can monitor, record, and promote their construction projects in real time. EarthCam provides "360 Reality", which can capture hundreds of photos in 360 .

EarthCam CEO and founder Brian Cury said the company's clients span builders around the world, including civil, commercial, government and residential construction projects. He explained, "Our company is committed to improving lives through visual information, so we have been looking for other data that can fund or support this work." Triax and EarthCam recently discovered an opportunity to combine their technologies, To clearly see who is entering or leaving the construction site and automatically correlate with RFID data.

Fraser states: "Managing contractor mobility at complex job sites is a daunting task. Automatic turnstiles provide a way to manage field personnel. By connecting RFID to these turnstiles, builders can better manage Who can enter automatically. However, sometimes construction managers need more than just an ID. In some cases, they need a photo. Our customers are increasingly demanding better access control and they need to ensure Everyone is there. "

With Spot-r technology, builders can manage the time and date of allowed individuals or contractors to be on site. If a worker arrives on a date or time that is not allowed, the turnstile will not allow that person to enter and will alert you. Fraser says that by working with EarthCam, users can connect information to videos or still photos, allowing them to use multiple tools to prevent security incidents or issues.

Spot-r includes a 900 MHz active proprietary RFID sensor (approximately the size of a traditional buzzer) and a receiver called a node. Each of these sensor devices comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, which is worn by staff and has a unique ID number that can be associated with a personal identification in the software. The sensor also comes with an altimeter, accelerometer, and gyroscope to identify movement, direction, and impact when a person falls. Each device also contains an infrared sensor to confirm that it is worn.

Nodes installed around the site or at the entrance are about half the size of a normal lunch box. In an open environment, the maximum distance that a node can receive a transmission from a sensor is 1000 feet; in a dense indoor environment, the maximum distance that a node can receive a transmission is 200 feet. These nodes run in the network, and some of them use cellular connections to forward data to Triax's cloud-based servers and dashboards, and the software can integrate this information with the company's project management software.

Generally, the sensor sets the beacon every 12 seconds, and the transmitted data is received by up to the four nearest receivers. This technology can now be visualized through integration with EarthCam's video data. One or more EarthCam cameras are installed at the entrance to the site, constantly collecting videos and storing them on EarthCam's cloud-based servers. When a sensor-wearing worker arrives at the scene, the Triax node captures this data and tracks it as the worker walks through the gate. In the event of an anomaly, such as a Spot-r sensor from the same staff member repeatedly passing through the door, an alert can be sent to management. Managers or other authorized parties can view data for specific events at any time and view footage taken while reading staff tags from EarthCam's video software.

的情况下的传感器same staff member repeatedly passes through the door, the manager can view the image to confirm whether the person wearing the sensor is authorized to do so, or if multiple staff members share a sensor, indicating a problem . Managers can use the Spot-r dashboard to locate specific sensors at the construction site, and then contact and ask the staff. The QR code on the Spot-r card holder allows management to scan the front of the sensor and access any details about a particular worker, as well as view their photos, to confirm that worker's identity.

门口的其他条件可能包括干扰the turnstile or staff arriving without proper OSHA certification. Fraser said using the acquired video content to identify employees provides a security feature that would be difficult to achieve without this technology. From a safety point of view, if you have to go back and see details about the staff or accident, you can do so by clicking the button on the Spot-r dashboard.

For EarthCam, Cury said, this partnership provides builders with a safer workplace, reducing risk and ultimately saving them money. This solution can also help builders sign contracts with customers by promising to strengthen security. Triax and EarthCam are currently discussing future installations with other companies, and Lettierre is the first manufacturer to deploy this combined solution.

In addition to working with EarthCam, Triax has been adding new products to its platform since its launch in 2017 to improve construction site management. One such feature is EquipTag, which monitors the use and location of equipment through active RFID sensor tags connected to tools or vehicles. Triax also provides more detailed data on the movement of people and tools in the workplace.

To achieve this, Triax offers a device called a point of interest beacon. These devices send signals to nearby workers or device sensors. The sensor receives the beacon signal and forwards its ID and the sensor's own information to the cloud-based server through the nodes installed around the site. In this way, the system can identify not only the approximate area where a particular staff member is located, but also more specific areas based on beacon data.
