RFID Tags and Services Attains Approval for Windshield Tag from the Automotive Research Association of India


Mumbai, India -- RFID Tags and Services (RFTS), a leading provider of customized RFID tags in India, announced that the windshield tag has received approval from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for use across India. Meeting the requirements of India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Resolution of windshield tag is fit to be used for vehicle identification across India.


Designed by RFTS and manufactured by Identic Tech Solutions, is one of few specialized tags designed and manufactured in India.


This announcement comes in time for Indian automobile manufacturers who must comply with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules. The new rules require that vehicle builders must fit a RFID tag on the windshield of all motor vehicles starting in 2013.


Windshield tags can be custom printer and programmed to meet individual automaker’s needs. RFTS not only provides the tags but also readers and backend software along with integration services to ensure end-to-end roll out of the system.


The windshield tag is uniquely suited for ETC using ISO 18000-6C passive tags. It tamper-proof and tamper-evident technology ensures physical tag security. It is tuned for vehicle and tolling applications. The tag is designed and produced to provide consistent and reliable performance along with having the ability to withstand the harsh environmental conditions that a vehicle endures throughout its operating life.


RFTS also provides consulting services for RFID system architecture, hardware selection.
