China's trade rebound, container production rebounded, waterborne container coatings industry expects growth in demand

Since 2018, up to now, the world economy has been recovering, the domestic economy has been running smoothly, and China's foreign trade imports and exports have been growing rapidly. According to customs statistics, China's total import and export value of goods trade in the first half of the year was 14.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9% over the same period last year. Among them, exports of 7.51 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.9%; imports of 6.61 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.5%; and trade surplus of 90.13 billion yuan, a narrowing of 26.7%.Rewarming trade has led to the development of the container industry. The total output of metal containers in China from January to December 2017 was 103,484,000 cubic meters. The volume of containers in China is positively related to the extent of trade boom.

From the perspective of enterprise distribution, China's container industry has a high degree of concentration, with CR4 reaching 86%, in which CIMC occupies nearly 50% of the market share. With the continuous change of the transport market and the improvement of container technology, the demand for containers will become diversified and complicated in the future. At present, the industry will present the following major trends:

1) intelligent. Container informationization is a key factor affecting modern logistics. At present, the information technology of container is mainly through sensor technology such as radio frequency identification technology (RFID)、微机电系统(MEMS)、控制technology, 2G/3G communication network technology and other related information technology to realize the real-time and transparent information of the whole supply chain under the global environment, as well as the remote monitoring, tracking and management of container under the whole supply chain.

2) multimodal transport. At present, the world container transport is still dominated by a single mode of transport, the connection between land, sea and air is not close enough. The continuous progress of container technology in the future will provide more convenient conditions for the interconnection of various transport routes.

3) environmental protection. Under the pressure of environmental protection policy, China's container industry is facing a shift to water-based coating. However, China's current use of water-based paint containers account for only about 3.5% of the total number of containers in the world, cost shocks have become a major "problem" facing the container industry.

Market development of China's container water-borne coatings industry

Since its establishment in China in the 1980s, the container manufacturing industry has become a mature industry after more than 30 years of development. In 1993, the world's largest production and sales volume was achieved, and this honor has been maintained to this day, creating three world first, namely, the world's first container production capacity, the world's first container category and specifications, the world's first set. Boxing is the first in the world. Every year, the demand for newly built containers of 2 million 500 thousand ~300 TEU is required to be 18~22 t. After nearly 10 years of development, waterborne container coatings have greatly improved the construction performance and reduced the cost on the premise of ensuring long-term performance.

In April 1, 2017, China's container manufacturers used water-based coatings. In the future, the main theme of container industry development will be around "environmental protection", "oil to water" and "unified action". In the next few years, the waterborne container coatings industry is expected to have a relatively large demand for renewal.
