What is RFID Frequency Ranges?

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology operates in different frequency ranges, each with its own characteristics and applications.

Here are the common RFID frequency ranges:

1. Low Frequency (LF):

——频率Range: 125 kHz to 134 kHz

- Typical Applications: Access control, animal tracking, vehicle immobilization, proximity cards.

2.High Frequency (HF):

——频率Range: 13.56 MHz

- Typical Applications: Contactless payment systems, public transportation cards, library systems, NFC (Near Field Communication) applications.

3.Ultra-High Frequency (UHF):

——频率Range: 860 MHz to 960 MHz

- Typical Applications: Supply chain management, inventory tracking, asset management, retail inventory management, vehicle tracking, toll collection.

4. Microwave Frequency (Microwave):

——频率Range: Above 1 GHz (commonly 2.45 GHz)

- Typical Applications: Industrial applications, specialized tracking systems, high-speed toll collection.

Each frequency range has its own advantages and considerations in terms of read range, tag size, data transfer speed, and interference resistance. Here are some key points to note:

- LF and HF frequencies generally offer shorter read ranges but are less affected by interference from surrounding materials. They are often used for applications that require close proximity or operate in environments with metal or liquid interference.

- UHF frequencies provide longer read ranges and faster data transfer speeds. They are commonly used in supply chain and inventory management applications where bulk reading of multiple items is required.

- Microwave frequencies offer long-range reading capabilities and are suitable for specialized applications that require high-speed and long-distance data transfer.

It's important to select the appropriate RFID frequency range based on the specific requirements of your application, taking into account factors such as read range, tag size, interference considerations, and regulatory compliance.
